KAASH FOUNDATION’S FIRST JUBILATION DAY

3rd October 2020

 It was one year ago, on 3rd October 2019, when KAASH Foundation embarked on its journey with an aim to make a difference in the world and change it into a better one in every step we take. 2020 has been a year of unexpected and unprecedented changes owing to the pandemic, and during this time, KAASH Foundation took the lead in enhancing peoples’ academic interests through several virtually held international conferences, faculty development programs and health webinars. It also served as a beacon of hope to the distressed through its COVID 19 relief activities.

3rd October 2020 marked the First Anniversary of KAASH Foundation’s enriching journey. To seal the milestone, a small celebration was held at The Lalit Hotel, Mumbai where the members gathered together to review the past and plan for the future. The celebration was graced by few well wishers, who had joined the team to commend and applaud for the remarkable work conducted so far.

A few members of KAASH Foundation gathered together at The Lalit Hotel at 2:30 p.m. to decorate and give last-minute touches before the onset of the function. The other members of KAASH soon joined in to assist in the preparation. Creative rangoli and decorations were done by the youth brigade to brighten up the ambience.

The event commenced at 5:30 p.m. by lighting of the auspicious diya as soon as the dignitaries arrived. Dr. Geeta Ajit, the Joint Director (Education) of KAASH Foundation and the Coordinator of the Centre for Academic and Professional Development (CAPD), warmly welcomed the audience and briefly introduced the program for the evening. Megha Patel then announced the inauguration of the event with Ganesh Vandana, followed by a beautiful song sung by Siona Salvi and a Deep Yoga performance by Ms. Pooja Malkar, Jaanhavi Malkar and Ms. Uma Parab, who are members of the KAASH Swaasthya Manthan (KSM) Team of the Health Vertical.

This was followed with the screening of a short audio visual made by Kishan Singhania, tracing the journey of the Foundation; its work, events, activities and the four Verticals, etc. through the year. Representing each of the Four Verticals, the members of the Foundation came up to unveil their plan of action and also to highlight the activities conducted through the year: Dr. Geeta Ajit for the Education Vertical, Prof. Kavita Mishra for the Environment Vertical, Dr. Chintan Jadia for the Health Vertical and Prof. Nandita Moitra for the Heritage Vertical. Mr. Rehan Ansari introduced the plan for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. Dr. Avkash Jadhav came at the end to sum up the journey and thank the members and the patrons for making all the dreams and aspirations of the Foundation a reality.

An online feedback portal was launched and Dr. Nishikant Jha and Prof. Anil Bankar, the Core Committee Members of the Foundation, were invited to be the first ones to give their feedback, because the official KAASH Foundation website was launched.

The lights then focused on the Guests of Honour for the evening. Each member was felicitated with a bouquet and mementoes. The special invitees included:

  • Mayank Podar, Entrepreneur
  • Lippika Podar, Entrepreneur
  • Anil Bankar, Associate Professor and Programme Coordinator, Department of History, IDOL, University of Mumbai
  • Santosh Rathod, Associate Professor cum Assistant Director in English, IDOL, University of Mumbai

The release of the conference proceedings was then announced by Dr. Geeta Ajit, Rohan Hegde, Sonal Rana and Ruchira Sarma, followed by the proceedings of KSM presented by Ms. Alpa Mehta and Megha Patel.

The release of the bound Volume of KAASH Konnect, KAASH Foundation’s Quarterly Newsletter came next, announced by Siona Salvi and presented by Krishna Sawant and Dr. Geeta Ajit. After this, each of the esteemed guests took over the mike to offer their appreciation and compliments to the Foundation.

Before the evening ended, it was time for the distribution of certificates by Megha Patel and a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Geeta Ajit. The curtains were then drawn for the evening sprinkled with a wonderful gala of events, after which the audience progressed towards the dining area where a sumptuous dinner awaited them.
