(8th March 2024)
On 8th March 2024, KAASH Foundation hosted its annual flagship program, कृतज्ञ: Gratitude, for the fourth consecutive year, to commemorate and acknowledge the role of women in the development of our society.
This year’s program took place on the outskirts of Mumbai, in the tribal areas of Vikramgad, Palghar District, Maharashtra. The occasion included the felicitation of anganwadi sevikas (supervisors of toddler and preschool centres for children under the age of five), who have worked tirelessly and demonstrated excellent performance through their dedication and honesty.
Around 50 anganwadi sevikas from 20 centres, including Khadaki, Jadhavpada, Mahalpada, Saarshi, and Jhadpoli, were invited to participate in the program and share their professional experiences.
The event featured three activities:
Activity 1: Addressing everyone present on the importance of Women’s Day, introducing the foundation’s activities, and recognizing the challenges that anganwadi sevikas encounter while performing their duties.
Activity 2: A variety of games geared towards team building, decision making, and uncovering inner potential were organized. A small quiz competition highlighting prominent female personalities was also held. Winners received awards to encourage them to read and learn outside of their regular scale of work.
Activity 3: Each sevika received a wonderfully designed bag for daily use. They were also encouraged to provide feedback on the event and assure us that they would excel in their roles as anganwadi sevikas.
The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Department, Government of Maharashtra, and its Incharge Supervisor, Ms. Suvarna, assisted us in organizing this program.
KAASH Foundation is honoured to celebrate this event in Vikramgad and recognize the unsung heroes of our society who work silently in the most distant parts of Maharashtra.
