KAASH FOUNDATION’S FOURTH JUBILATION DAY

1st & 2 nd October 2023

On 1st & 2nd October 2023, KAASH Foundation celebrated its Fourth Jubilation Day, an occasion to reflect on the four years since its foundation in 2019. This year, the celebration lasted over two days and coincided with the Foundation’s first ever international conference devoted solely to health, titled आरोग्यम्, स्वास्थ्यम्, समाधानम् (Ārogyam, Svāsthyam, Samādhānam).

Day 1 began with a bang at the Garware Club House, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Ms. Titiksha Kabra, the Foundation’s Youth Brigade Member, welcomed everyone and invited our Joint Director (Education), Dr. Geeta Ajit, to speak to the audience about KAASH Foundation. Dr. Avkash Jadhav, our Founder-Trustee, then delivered his opening remarks. Dr. Renuka Vyas, our Joint Director (Health), provided insights into the Foundation’s work in Vikramgad, as well as future efforts. We were honoured to welcome Shri. Dr. G. Veluchamy, Padma Shri Recipient for Siddha in 2023, as the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Veluchamy spoke enthusiastically about his experiences and contributions to Siddha, particularly the restoration of about 1500 Tamil manuscripts that outline various facets of the practice. He was also extremely impressed with the Foundation’s work in the health sector.

Following that, the booklet on our ‘Initiatives to Promote Health’ was released. This booklet provides a quick pictorial overview of the Foundation’s health-promoting activities. This was followed by the launch of our 14th International Conference book, ‘Indigenous Peoples: Challenges of Validation and Inclusion’. Dr. Avkash Jadhav and Dr. Geeta Ajit worked together to compile and publish the book.

The program then continued with the plenary and technical sessions scheduled for the day as part of the conference.

Day 2 of the celebrations began at C.K. Nayudu Banquet Hall, Cricket Club of India in Mumbai. The day began with an informative discussion on Emotional Intelligence, which was followed by practical lessons on Mallakhamb and hair treatment. Ms. Titiksha Kabra then welcomed Shri. Dr. Manoranjan Sahu, Padma Shri Recipient for Ayurveda in 2023, as our Valedictory Speaker. In his speech, Dr. Sahu discussed his tireless efforts to promote Ayurveda in both India and Nepal. He acknowledged the Foundation’s efforts to promote traditional medicine and offered his best wishes to all KAASH members.

This was followed by a delicious meal and the presentation of certificates. Finally, the day concluded with a vote of thanks and cheers to KAASH Foundation.
